From tea plant to teacup
Every tea in the world, from a delicate white to a strong black, comes from the same plant, Camellia sinensis, and people have been drinking it for more than five thousand years. On the walk you see the plant up close and learn how it grows, how the leaves are picked and what happens to them next.
The difference between the four teas comes down to processing, and that's the part most people find surprising. Once you've seen it, the tasting falls into place: it's the same leaf four different ways, and you can taste exactly what changed.
If you're traveling with kids, those aged 6 to 11 can come along for free. They join the walk and the talk but sit out the tasting itself.
