What the canopy tour is like
The course runs through the green mountains that climb toward La Amistad International Park, one of the wildest stretches of forest left in Central America. From the platforms you look out across the treetops to Volcán Barú, and on the lines themselves you pass over rivers and waterfalls you'd never reach on foot.
Twelve lines gives you time to settle in. The first one or two get your heart going, and somewhere around the middle most people stop gripping the harness and start enjoying the view. The whole tour takes an hour and a half to two hours, safety briefing included.
It works well for families, since kids can ride from age 5 and the youngest go along the course with a guide. If you're after something faster and higher, the Superman zipline is the next step up.
