How booking with us works

Boquete Tours acts as an intermediary booking agent. When you book with us we arrange your place with a local tour operator, and that operator is the one who actually runs the tour on the day.

This applies to every tour listed on this site, without exception, including both coffee tours and the Volcán Barú 4x4 departures.

Running the tour is the direct responsibility of the local operator. That covers the vehicles and drivers, the guides, any equipment, the safety procedures they follow, their permits and licenses, and any insurance covering the activity.

We are not the operator and we do not carry out the tours ourselves. If you would like to know which operator will run your tour, or see their insurance and licensing before you commit, just ask and we will tell you.

Sending the form on our contact page is a request, not a confirmed booking. Nothing is charged at that point.

We reply by email to confirm that your date is available. Your booking exists only once we have confirmed it to you in writing.

The schedules, itineraries and inclusions on this site describe how a tour usually goes. They are examples, not guarantees, and they change with weather, road and mountain conditions, farm availability and group size.

The Volcán Barú departures depend heavily on conditions on the mountain and may be moved or called off for safety. A departure also needs a minimum of two people before it can be confirmed.

Come dressed for the tour you have booked, in suitable footwear, and follow your guide's instructions during the activity.

Tell us and your guide about any medical condition, injury or limitation that could affect you, especially at altitude on Volcán Barú, and bring any medication you normally take. Guides are not able to provide medication.

Please give us accurate contact details, including a phone number we can reach you on, so we can reach you if plans change at short notice.

Prices are shown in US dollars, per person, and are a starting price unless stated otherwise. The price that applies is the one we confirm to you in writing.
